Merry Yule, Green Man Community!

We have a tradition here each year to take a ribbon and tie three knots into the ribbon for three wishes to be cast upon our Axis Mundi Yule Tree, as we journey through the turning of our Solar Wheel.

In the past this was part of our Community Yule ritual gathering.  Thanks, Covid, for continuing to screw with our social and spiritual lives!  But we do what we can, so take a ribbon and tying three knots into it, do a little spell-crafting and hang your ladder in our tree—it’s right on our front counter, with ribbons ready for you to choose and use.

Take a ribbon, tie a loose single knot without pulling it tight.  Hold the loose knot and visualize something you want to release, let go of as we approach the end of the year.  Feel the emotions of being ready to let it go!  Take it deep and when you are ready, exhale from your belly into the knot as you pull it tight to catch the breath spell in the knot.

Do the same for a second knot, only this time visualize something you want for the coming year–a single reasonable shift that serves your desire for the new year.  And breathe that spell into the second knot as you pull it tight again.

The third knot is done the same way, only this should be a wish for someone else, as a gift.  However, make this wish as an opportunity, an offer–not something that binds the person receiving the gift!

This is a kind of clootie rag/witch’s ladder and is an old simple spell-crafting that witches were known for.  Thank you for participating in our Yule Tradition.  Now we won’t have to send Krampus after you! 😉
