Yule 2020 with The Green Man

Every year, we at The Green Man gather to celebrate Yule which is a time for the gathering of the Tribe, the Community, our chosen Spiritual Family as we turn the Great Wheel!
This is a truly beautiful and fun seasonal gathering and one of the popular Ced Tradition Workings of the year!

Yule gathering at the Green Man Store

Join us for Yule 202o.  This gathering of the family at the hearth, around the Yule tree, happens in the midst of dark time, that period of darkness (winter) when the life force energies of the land are traditionally seen as sleeping. A time when misrule and chaos rules. And when those within the tribe who are weak or sick are at the greatest risk. We endure when we stand united against the dark!

Traditionally there are observations addressing this tide, such as the Krampus traditions where the dark goatish one seeks out and punishes those who do not observe the seasonal traditions and festivities. Or the misrule celebrations of the Saturnalia, which we also usually celebrate each year at The Green Man.

It is our responsibility to observe the seasonal festivities and traditions in order to keep our old ways alive, and in that we also hold onto and secure the collective spirit of our tribe. It’s why our gathering around the Tree, lit with living lights and bedecked with our Witches Ladders, each year is so important for us, as we turn the fulcrum point of darkness in the year.

The Winter Solstice carries in many ways the same energy as our Dark Moon, only a solar expression of that death and rebirth event. It is the end of the old year and the birth of a new cycle. So what spirit is held in conjunction with this turning birth point of the new cycle shall make its presence known throughout the following solar cycle of sabbats! For this reason, even though it is one of simplest of sabbat, it is also one of the most important sabbats of the year!

As this Yule Season Sabbat serves us all, we really feel the need to gather in any way we can this Yule. It’s been one hell of a year of misrule, in so many ways! We have been stalked by sickness, disruption and destruction all year. It has struck at the heart of so many families! So we as a spiritual tribe of families, we truly need to gather and touch that spirit that unites us all. The Green Man has been by design since its birth ten years back, a sanctuary for all within the pagan & witch community. We embrace our diversity, tolerance, and solidarity as the very heart of who we are. But we are nothing without you, our tribe, our extended family of spiritual misfits and heretics!

So please join us this year on Dec 19th at 7.00pm for a Yule 2020 zoom gathering of our Tribe to celebrate together our Green Man Yule! There is no payment for this event. We just want to see you all and celebrate with you! We have missed our gatherings with you so much. We pray that this coming year we will get past these covid issues and finally get to gather as we have so many times before!

We simply ask that you register with an email address for us to be able to send you the Zoom link, when the day arrives. Perhaps prepare your space for ritual? Perhaps take the time to share your Yule Tree or festive pagan décor? Please do have a libation drink ready to join us in our libation. Also have with you a short piece of ribbon or something you can tie a three knot witches ladder into, which then you can place on your tree, your Altar or some such sacred place.

We will present some seasonal observations and lots of laughter and celebration! We will be doing a ritual of sorts…raising power of joy for the coming year!
