Vision Quest to Sekhmet

This month I am doing something I do not often do, but perhaps should. A well overdue visitation to one of my dear and beloved Ancient Goddesses, Sekmet! For some a first encounter, to better know this powerful and amazing Titan Goddess. She is a Goddess of the Craft who all too often dwells in the shadows of other, more familiar, Goddesses. But this year we need to bring her from the shadows and stand proud by her side in the clear and cleansing light!

The recent Tides of Fate seems to have been running some folks ragged. There is a sense of weariness hanging over us that just doesn’t fit with this time of year. A general wave of miscommunications, irritation, and weirdness fills the air, like we’re caught in an extended period of Mercury retrograde. Even if things are getting resolved for you, the tide has many around us caught up in big drama of one sort or another.

The spirit quality of our world right now seems to want to further a sense of discord. Well, it is an election year and the antics of division and drama seem to have become standard fare in the media. And as the year moves on I suspect this will only get worse! But we of the Craft of the Wise, how can we best weather this Tide?

As we approach the Solstice we come to that time of year where we may be challenged to find our truth and stand firm. It’s a test of Virtue, Truth and Strength of Character. It’s a time to try a draw a line in the sand, even with loved ones, who also need to respect us and give us some consideration!

But what are the tools we need to discern how best to move forward with confidence, owning our power? Those are the tools that come together with our beloved Sekhmet. She is a Goddess of Power and Action, a Warrior Goddess whom nothing can stand against. But she also wears the Solar Disk and Wadjet Eye, bringing the clarity and vision of oracles. She is a Goddess of Healing and helping us build our strength so that we can stand firm and come through the year victorious!
