Shamanic Waxing Moon Ritual: AYNI DESPACHO CEREMONY

In the wake of the Waxing Moon ahead of us, and just after the pinnacle of the Summer Solstice, this marks the perfect time to perform an Ayni Despacho Ceremony. For many of us, it has been a roller coaster of a year, and now that we’re about halfway through, a moment of ritual reflection and gratitude may be in order. Within the Peruvian Q’ero Tradition, Despachos are ritual offerings given to the spirits of nature to manifest specific intentions. Filled with leaves, grains, beans, sugars, candies and charms, Despachos are typically created for the purposes of protection, prosperity, blessings, releasing heavy energy, initiations. In this case, we will be creating one for Ayni. In Quechua, Ayni means reciprocity, and it’s about being in right relationship with nature. Despite the adversities we face in our daily lives, the many blessings we manage to retain, at their root, are of nature. And it is through this fire ceremony we may extend our awareness to this balance (the giving-and-taking of resources – physical, energetic or otherwise), and give back to nature. So, as individuals, and as a community, let us join hands as we reignite our trajectory for harmony, gratitude and healing.
