The Magic of The “Not” between Samhain and Yule with Orion Foxwood

The ways of the Old Religion are wise and attuned to the greater magic cast by the luminaries of heaven: The Sun, Moon and Earth. The witch follows the light current of the sun as it falls from the heavens into the land and becomes the fertile life force that becomes all life on earth. The moon regulates the nourishing tides of water, etheric connectivity and the rhythms of astral light. There are spirit roads that pass between these three heavenly bodies that carry the essential nature of life in the realms of seen, unseen and the thresholds in between and the traditional witch sensitizes and synchronizes with them and in doing so wields powerful and balanced magic for themselves and the world we live in.

There are some gaps in much of the modern Craft teachings that create an imbalance in witches walk through the magical year. Perhaps the most potent one is the lore of the “Not Time” – a concept describing the period between the day after Samhain (the Hallows Tide) November 1 and the Yule-Tide December 21. There were specific things that the witches did to use the power of this inward breath of the life-pulse that gave direction, clarity, meaning and vision to how the year would unfold and how that would feed into the unfoldment of the next year and on and on.
