Ritual to Contact the Dearly Departed with Tony Mierzwicki

While there are numerous way of contacting our loved ones who have passed over, this ritual will explore an authentic ancient technique which calls upon the Daimon (Spirit) of the Dead as a means of contacting them.
In ancient times, everyone was thought to have special powers at the moment of death. The embodiment of these powers, known as the Daimon of the Dead, was capable of going into the underworld to contact deities, the dearly departed, and also the spirits of those still living.
The Daimon of the Dead was a powerful force capable of being harnessed by Graeco-Egyptian sorcerers and sorceresses to overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles for love spells and for obtaining vengeance on behalf of those wrongfully accused. The Daimon of the Dead was also one of the sources of power so skillfully employed by Medea, a powerful witch and priestess of Hecate and the niece of the great witch Circe.
While this ritual was chosen to continue on from the lecture “Curses and Hauntings in Pop Culture”, it works very well on a standalone basis.
Tony Mierzwicki is the author of “Graeco-Egyptian Magick: Everyday Empowerment” and a forthcoming primer reconstructing Classical Greek religion: “Hellenismos: Practicing Greek Polytheism Today”. He has contributed to various anthologies and magazines. He has presented workshops recreating ancient magickal practices in the United States and the east coast of Australia since 2001, drawing on his practice of ceremonial magick which he began in 1990.
