Since 1972, the Gnostic Sanctuary of Palo Alto has celebrated publicly the Ritual of the Bridal Chamber, translated from the liturgical celebrations of the Holy Order of Myriam of Magdala, claiming origins from the Magdalene, handed down through the centuries by a female priesthood, personified in these times by lineage-bearer Rosamonde Ishvaku   Miller, Hierophant and Gnostic Bishop. From November 15 until Holy week in the Spring, the Rite will be celebrated once a month at The Green Man in North Hollywood by Catherine Wright, ordained in this Magdalene lineage by Bishop Miller. The Rite is steeped in Earth spirituality, and permeated by the Voice of Sophia, Wisdom, Holy Spirit, Thunder Perfect Mind.

Catherine Wright came to the Goddess Community in 1991, in a small coven exploring the magical ways of Fairy tradition with the writings of Starhawk as guide. In 1998, Catherine accepted priestess ordination in the Fellowship of Isis, Temple of Isis, dedicating her service to Isis Sophia, Mary Magdalene, and Elen of the Ways. In 2005, she experienced the joy of dedication to the Lineage of Mary Magdalene through ordination at the Gnostic Sanctuary by Bishop Rosamonde Miller, Hierophant and Lineage-bearer of the Holy Order of Myriam of Magdala, holding workshops and celebrations in the Los Angeles area of the Rite through the years.
