Painting With Life workshop with Amy of The Temple of Ced

The use of animal remains in art for spiritual purposes is as old as humanity itself. Blood, specifically, carries the spirit through the ages, and has many stories to tell. In this class, we will work with mixed media materials to awaken this ancestral legacy in ourselves. Among them: bull blood, graveyard dust, motor oil, bone dust, sulfur, salt peter, and various herbs, to name a few. We will paint on canvas, and discuss how to awaken these seemingly mundane elements with what is magical and vital in us. This course is less about the painting and much more about the willingness to dance with the underlying energies all around us. Through this ancient and lively art of animism, the spirits are eagerly await the dance.

All levels of expertise are welcome, and no previous experience with paint, blood, etc., is required. You will, however, need to be willing to touch some unusual materials. Hand washing will be nearby. Join us for the fun!
