Lughnasadh Ritual with L.A. Reclaiming

August 3, 2024 @ 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm

Join us as we celebrate the beginning of harvest season at The Green Man Store! Lughnasadh—also called Lammas or Loaf-mas—is the festival of the first bread, and with it, a celebration of the god Lugh. Lugh is the god of the lightning strike, the master of many tools, and a quick-tongued warrior who uses truth as one of His weapons. Lugh is the unlikely leader who knows the ins and outs of resisting an empire, and in this season, we follow His lead, celebrating not only the gifts of the earth that sustain us, but also the sacrifices and acts of resistance that allow us to thrive. For this ritual, we will gather at The Green Man Store in the evening to welcome in this season of abundance together.

ACCESSIBILITY

The ritual space in the new Green Man location is INDOORS in a spacious room behind the shop area. Access to the ritual space is level and wide enough for wheelchair access. Access requires going through the store, which may have strong scents from the incenses and oils sold there. The temple space is quiet and should have good acoustics, though we have not yet held a ritual in their new space yet. The space will likely be dimly lit during the ritual. Chairs are available for those needing to sit for part of or all of the ritual, and the ritual is structured to allow for participation also while seated.

Street parking is free and plentiful in the evenings.

We have written this accessibility statement to be as inclusive as possible so that people with accessibility concerns do not have to do the labor of asking. If we have overlooked some aspect, please email us at info@reclaimingla.org.
