2018 Lammas Ritual with Reclaiming LA

Lughnasadh, also called Lammas, marks the beginning of the harvest season. We gather to celebrate bright summer days (soon coming to an end), and begin reaping what we’ve sown from the past few months. Join us to connect with the magic of this special season & with beloved community, to give thanks and to welcome abundance into our lives.

This Lughnasadh, we will be working with Lugh and the Morrigan.

Our ritual intention is: We reclaim our sovereignty as activists to illuminate our collective power and weave change.

To support this intention and build our community of activists, we will be building our altar with calls to action, such as flyers or pamphlets, that represent the causes our community members are passionate about. We invite you to bring one such call to action (all causes are welcome so long as they are in the spirit of Reclaiming’s Principles of Unity). After they are imbued with magical energy from our ritual, we will keep them on the altar throughout the potluck and post pictures of them to social media afterwards so that other interested community members have the opportunity to get involved.

All Genders Welcome!

Children welcome with adult supervision; to enable adults to fully participate in the body of the ritual, a separate children’s ritual will be offered.

What to Bring

  • Flyers, pamphlets, or other information on activist causes you would like to charge on our community altar.
  • Food and drink to share for the post-ritual potluck.
  • Please bring your own reusable/washable plate, cup, utensils, and napkin.
  • We will be hosting a bardic pre-ritual gathering in the Green Man’s classroom area prior to the ritual. Please consider bringing a devotional/bardic offering to share with your fellow celebrants before the ritual–a song, a poem, a piece of art–in honor of the season and the turning of the Wheel.

To support those in recovery, this ritual is clean and sober.
