The Etruscans (Rasenna) were a non-Indo-European people who occupied Northern Italy a millennia prior to the rise of the Roman Empire. While sometimes compared to the Greek Gods of their neighbors, the Etruscan Gods–collectively called the Aiser or the “College of Gods”–are unique. The Aiser sought for a balance in the universe, and were characterized by harmonious lateral relationships, rather than hierarchy. This is an introduction to those Gods, and their relationship to the Etruscan Discipline, the divinatory practices used to determine the will of the gods and the meaning of the sixteen stations of the Sky. This class will serve as an introduction to one of the Mysterious Peoples of Europe.
