Belly Dancing Level 1 series with Jen McDonald

FatChanceBellyDance®Style is a modern, group improvisational form of belly dance. A fusion dance, the movements are inspired by folkloric dances of the Middle East, North Africa, Spain, and India. It is a uniquely modern creation that does not represent an “authentic" dance from any particular region.

This style celebrates the strength and beauty of working together as a group. Formatted steps, cues, eye-contact, and connection allow dancers to stitch together an improvisational tapestry each time they dance.

Level 1 Fundamentals begins your journey of empowerment and support, helping you to build muscle, coordination, mental acuity, and grace. Students will learn dance posture, form, transitions, and how to follow cues.

This 6 week course consists of:
Warm Up
Gratitude Mediation
Fast Vocabulary – 4 movements
Slow Vocabulary – 5 movements
Finger Cymbals
Cool Down

Each class builds upon the previous one, and there will be a review of the previous week.

This class is definitely a fun work out. Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in, bring water, and a notebook if you like to take notes.

Sundays, 3:00-4:00pm

About the Teacher: Jen McDonald
I began my dance journey in the year 2000, inspired by my Mom and Best Friend. We started taking classes as a fun way to get in shape together. 22 years later, I am a certified teacher, performer, and director. Thanks Mom! I found FCBD Style in 2004 and fell head over heels in love. The deep connection dancers share is unlike any other style that I've experienced. I love the discipline of this art form, the strength and earthy sensuality, the trust, acceptance, and intimacy it inspires. I direct a small troupe of like minded enthusiasts, Crescent Rose, who you will surely see in class. Please come and join us!
