In every path of Western Esotericism, or Mystery Tradition, the scope of study often opens doors to subjects like Tarot, Qabalah, Alchemy, Herbalism, Talismans, Ceremonial Magic, etc. But along these lines, one will often find Astrology, to some degree, as a common thread in supporting the understanding of these occult philosophies and practices. These days, Astrology is commonly perceived as a tool for generalized divination or personality analysis, however it is so much more than that. Astrology is the study of fate and fortune, and traditionally, it was used to predict widespread events and disasters, to connect with spirits, to elect auspicious days and times for events, to find lost objects, treat illnesses, create magical talismans, and do magic!
As this is Part 2 of the “Traditional Astrology for Witches” Series, it will be assumed that you now have a familiarity and understanding of Traditional Western Astrology. So, from 10/21/21–12/2/21, the goal is to introduce and orient you with the fundamental concepts, and techniques, of Planetary and Astrological Magic. In this class, we will discuss the different ways astrology can be utilized, and approached, in regards with magical timing, interpretation, and the crafting of spells, and talismans. Amongst several topics, we will explore the magical correspondences of the planets, the planetary days & hours, the magic of the lunar phases & lunar mansions, astrological talismans & sigils, and of course, a little bit of chart interpretation!
Please come to class prepared with whatever items you need for notetaking. Throughout the series I will also be providing you with additional study materials (PDF Handouts, Charts, Tables and Worksheets, and maybe a few video study guides.)
***It is highly recommended to participate cumulatively, in this series, from start to finish. If you already happen to have a good foundation and understanding of Astrology (particularly Traditional Western Astrology), as a possible consideration, you may begin your participation at this point of the series, skipping Part 1.
