Winter is coming with the Yuletide celebrations, and the All-Father Odin, known to lead the Wild Hunt, then swings back around as Father Winter, the Father of Yuletide, the true and pagan original model for Santa!  Let’s face it: he owns this time of year in all its phases.  As Father of Winds, he is the frenzy of creation. Father of the Gods, Father of Winter, Father of Yuletide, and even Father of the Afterlife…yes all this and much more.  However, in the public he is seldom spoken of as the Father of Witchery.  Known in some places as the Wanderer Old Nick, he is also undeniably a major Witch God!

As a sidekick to old Santa who has become popular in recent years, Krampus the black Goat figure was probably originally associated with Thor.  Although the Yule Goat has since become associated with Odin in his Father Yule persona. The Goat that Father Yule rides is the origin of the reindeer Father Yule rides, only compounded with the 8 legged horse Sleipnir, leaving us with eight reindeer following the 9th leader–which also ties into the 9-fold order of the Norse Cosmology.  The two Goats that pulled Thor’s chariot were also known to represent feasting, as he could feast upon them and then they would come back to life: a variation of the cornucopia symbol of feasting!  Back to the Krampus connection: the original Yuletide Goat, symbolic of the feasting and celebrations of the Yule Festival, has himself evolved into a confrontational persona that not only represents the spirit of celebrating the Yuletide, but as the Krampus, he has come to also represent the consequence of NOT celebrating the Yuletide in an appropriate manner!

General notes about these workings:  Akin to the Quest for the Grail achieved through Vision, these popular Vision Quest workings serve to help awaken the Sight and Gifts in the Seeker, offering a number of opportunities to connect with various divine spirits and receive gnostic insight into your Fate, Path and practices, both within your mundane world as well as your Magic.

Please arrive at 7:30 for an 8pm start.

*ZOOM PARTICIPANTS PLEASE NOTE: We will open the Zoom meeting at 7:30, but will start at 8pm PROMPT.

*IN PERSON PARTICIPANTS PLEASE NOTE: The temple space is not carpeted, and bringing a pillow or yoga blanket or something comfortable to sit on is recommended.

Also, please bring a salty snack to share for after the Vision Quest.

These can be powerful workings, so we recommend that you please be prepared to stay and engage in the after-Quest discussion while you ground and perhaps receive clarity on any insights you may have received.
