This will be the first time the Temple of Ced Coven, led by Griffin & Carrie, will be presenting a public live Mabon Ritual. This will be our first Ced working at the Store in quite some time, thanks to Covid! We are very excited about getting back into public work, and look forward to sharing ritual space with our community! Ritual will be held in the temple space upstairs.

Mabon is the common community name for the Autumnal Equinox. There are a few varied traditional approaches to this Sabbat, but the one we tend to focus on is about how our temple/house is put into order at this time of year. In the middle ages, back in Britain, the agricultural world of the past observed Michaelmas on sept 29th. This marked the end and beginning of the Husbandmans year, which was the time when the harvest having been gathered in, the rents for the land needed to be settled.

This practice of settling ones debts and putting ones life & relationships back into order, spills over into spiritual, religious observance by taking spiritual inventory of our personal life Harvest. The causality that has come from choices and actions during the past year must be addressed. Then taking those results, through ritual and magical means, we endeavor to correct missteps, making repairs where needed or cutting from us what no longer serves. Putting back into a state of virtue, our legacy, our relationships between ourselves and our People, our Gods & our Spirits, as well as any area of our lives that has not worked out as we had hoped.

On the other side we also make note of what personal harvest has come through as we had hoped. And to this we make thanks in recognition for all we have received. Doing this is a way to further empower this powerful dynamic relationship with hold with our Gods, Spirits and the mythic land of our ancestors & craft! Some believe this observance of Michaelmas, is the old world origin of the American Thanksgiving Day. And for us Witches, we take this old world thanksgiving observance to a deep and potent reconciliation between ourselves and our spirit & Gods, as well as each other.

Want to know more? Come join us and explore this Old World working of the season, together with a Community that has shown they can bring it in spades!

As this is the Harvest Festival, please pay attention to bring a dish to add to the great Harvest Festival Spread, we shall share and enjoy together after the rite!

We will gather at 7.30pm for an 8.00pm ritual.
