Practical Magic Series

With Carrie & Griffin at the Green Man Store    Starting Thurs 30th of June for six weeks

Warning: this series will be one of those joint teacher events with Carrie and me, so anarchy and laughter may hijack us from time to time!

Plus, NOTE***  This series is on Thursdays!

So, are you in for a little magic, a little mischief, and a load of fun?  This series is a whole fun-packed way to get your fingers into and learn the old Arte of Practical Magic!  The perfect series for those folks beginning on their magical path as well as the seasoned practitioners looking for an informative yet practical hands-on approach to working magic on commonly encountered issues.

Though we will cover fundamental spell-crafting basics, the main focus for this series will be hands-on spell work for a wide cross-section of applications and issues.  Heavy on the practical spell-crafting and mischief and lighter on the deeper spiritual issues found within the old arte of Witchcraft today, we will guide you through a series of projects that will illuminate the mechanics of spell work.

Come ready to get your head and hands tied up in the work for yourself.

This is not a Wicca 101 series, but rather a series of classes to introduce simple Traditional Craft practices akin to Hedge-witchery.  The Key focus will be on how to make your Magic Magical and how to make it work!

Pre-registration strongly encouraged, as this class is likely to fill up fast!

Cost is $23 a class;  $93 for the 6 week series paid up front.  $3 discount for cash.  Plus, there will be a $13 per class materials fee; $3 discount for cash. There will be no materials fee for class 1, as it will be an intro class and won’t be using materials.

If you buy the Series + materials up front, it’s $143.   $3 discount for cash.

Body Wisdom for Healing Magic with Rev. Devon Rachelle

Body Wisdom for Healing Magic with Rev. Devon Rachelle   2-Hour Workshop  Saturday June 11, 2016   3:00 – 5:00

Are you suffering from physical, mental, emotional or spiritual ailments and ready for some serious healing?
Are you a Healer working to help others move past their suffering?

Or perhaps you are a perfectly healthy and happy practitioner of Magic on the lookout for new tools to amp up your abilities and reach new heights of success with your spells?

As Embodied beings, we are each a sacred planet, an entire ecology made up of billions of individual beings, each housing their own divine and potent magic. Our bodies themselves – even those troubled by dis-ease, malfunction and discomfort – hold incredible gifts of Divine, potent power for us. Sometimes it is the misdirected flow of this power that causes our ailments in the first place.

Most of us are familiar with the foundational practices of using the Breath to ground us and carry us into Trance, and the body itself as a conduit for magical power to flow through. We also use posture, stance, and gestures to amplify and direct the flow of power. But beyond these, how often are we fully aware of the workings of our bodies – both inner and outer – and the ways those forces shape our experience and our Magic?

In this workshop we will explore and tap into the universal wisdom and Magical power that lie within our very physiology. We will Journey into the body itself, to discover these hidden currents and the ways in which they shape our experiences, our work and our magical practices. We will develop new tools to begin a sacred partnership with our bodies and transform it into one of our strongest allies, bringing our psychic and magical abilities to astonishing new heights!

No particular level of physical fitness or Magical ability required! Anyone with a body can benefit from this class, which includes playful, profound and deeply insightful meditations and exercises, suitable for all levels of skill and mobility.

Components of the class will include:

Breathwork and Journeying to carry us deep within our bodies and our physiology
Movement as a tool for Divine Discovery and Communion, utilizing a variety of   modalities – from noticing the messages and Magical power present in physical sensations and typical mundane motions, to conscious expression through the language of the body.
Automatic writing to channel and record information
Let’s have some fun gettin’ physical!

Journal or notebook & pen
An item to represent your own physical body

I look forward to Moving into Magic with you!

Herbal Workshop with Julie James

Being in the presence of certain plants is healing in itself: Trees, mosses, grasses and leaves all can impart a feeling of health and strength and vitality, simply by being near them.

But flowers—ah, those are special. Flowers are glorious. They are the ultimate expression of beauty and vitality for the plant. Plants gather their energy and shoot upward and create these colorful, perfumed, sometimes overwhelming blossoms in order to get our attention. With so much intention and energy going into their formation, it’s no wonder that they also draw us in and beg us to use them for healing, as well.

In this class we will explore the healing effects of many of our favorite blooms, tasting and trying a variety of medicines made with them, and taking home samples, literature and recipes! Come join us!

$23 class fee, $3 cash discount (pay at The Green Man)

Sekhmet: Boundary Magic with WildCat

Work with Sekhmet, kick-ass African/Egyptian goddess, to learn how to flame your boundary when criticized, so you can respond out of strength and calm confidence rather than being defensive. Also, believe you deserve respect (and get it), be able to work effectively and responsibly with anger, and say “no” with a clear conscience.

Presenter:  WildCat has been teaching magic for over ten years, working with a variety of goddesses and gods.  Trained as a Witch in the Feri and Reclaiming traditions, she is true to her WildCat name, drilling for spiritual experience in the places between charted territories, and her practice and teaching draw upon a number of traditions. She loves the consciousness she has developed and the ecstasy she has felt practicing magic. She gets a kick out of sharing her experience and co-creating new and powerful transformational magic in each class. For her, magic is an important ethical act as well as exciting — “what we do between the worlds changes us and all the worlds!”

This was a really great circle. Thanks so much to WildCat, and for all you powerful women. This is a big topic for me, and I felt a lot shift within, during and after this presentation. And as the Universe would have it, the very next morning I had an optimum boundary learning opportunity with my husband!! I didn’t go down the road of blazing defensiveness, but instead held very calm and clear. Awesome!!!!! What a revelation. Thanks again

Thank you, WildCat, for putting so much immediately useful emotional intelligence on the worktable with this Goddess. You illuminated Her as an example of power through egalitarianism, and strength in boundaries that respect what we feel. We are so fortunate to have this role model as our circle patroness. Beautifully done.

Traditional Witchcraft 201 with Griffin

Traditional Witchcraft 201
It’s been two whole years since this Series was last Presented, almost to the day! So much has evolved and grown through the work of these past two years. I am excited to get my teeth back into this level of advanced Traditional Witchcraft and see what new levels of insight we may access and what trouble we can get ourselves into!

This is a 9-week series, starting Tues Feb 23th at 7:30 p.m. Rotating between classroom lectures and hands-on, practical ritual experience, every other week, we will be taking the previous week’s lesson to the floor. This is a more experiential method approach that offers the student a deeper understanding of the material, by taking it out of the realm of the theoretical and putting it into the realm of the practical. The objective to the Series is that the student claims insight into the material that enables true ownership and proficiency into Trad Craft of this level.

I will be offering a structured system that works to support modern day Witches in practical application of and evolution of the Legacy they inheritably hold within their Witchblood! This is not a Wiccan Based system and an open mind to exploration into engaging Magic as foundational to the Craft is required!

To join this class you must have completed at least one of the previous Trad Craft 101 series. As this series builds upon the concepts already introduced in the 101 level work. TC 201 is not a series for beginners.

Considering this class is not often offered and we do have class size limitations, it is advisable to reserve a space for this series before the class fills up! Call the Green Man at 818-985-2010. Reservations will be taken on a first come, first serve basis.

Guys, the long wait is finally over! Sorry but last year was just too packed with other demands to squeeze this series in. This is a packed and demanding Series to present and so it may be a while before I will be able to offer it up again! So those interested in this advance Traditional Witchcraft Series, are advised to seize the opportunity this time around! But make sure to call and reserve!

Introducing Witch Father Griffin Ced

Witch Father Griffin Ced

Griffin Ced is the Virtue holder and Witch Father for the Ced Tradition and family line. Together with Rita Morgan, the Dame and Mother of the Line, they have lead the Line and Tradition in the USA for the past 20 years. Hailing from Britain, Griffin comes from a mix of Hertfordshire Village folk, Romany Gypsy, Essex and London breeding. The Witchblood was passed onto him across the veil from his Great-Grandmother, who having decided it was time to move on, drowned herself in a bucket a year before his birth. He was raised with Spiritualism and good old fashioned British Craft, into which he was initiated in Essex back in 1975. Escaping the soggy isles for the snowy climbs of Norway, a quick tour of Africa and many other strange lands, he finally fell in love with California, making LA his home for the past 24 years! Griffin has been teaching and leading public rituals for the past two decades and is committed to Community-building today at The Green Man store in North Hollywood. Griffin is the Manager of The Green Man, helping to create the magical experience people have come to love with the store. At the Green Man, in addition to Pagan Products, Griffin and his associates offer public rituals and many diverse craft-related classes on a weekly basis.
