SUMMARY:Lughnasadh ritual with Raven's Cry ADF Druid's Grove
DESCRIPTION:Come\, gather as did the tribes of ancient Ireland and celebrate the first harvest. All are welcome\, no experience needed.  The first of the great harvest festivals\, Lughnasadh is a time when the four tribes\, typically at odds\, would gather in the very heart of Eire to feast. Tailtiu\, Lugh’s step mother\, who exhausted herself clearing the fields for planting\, requested on her deathbed that games be held in her honor. Every year\, to honor her passing\, the tribes joined in peace to compete\, putting aside past misdeeds or ancient grudges. May we too gather in good faith\, as one tribe\, to acknowledge each other’s hard work and contribution toward the harvest\, knowing that whatever we sow here this eve will be reaped in due time.  May it be so\, or “Bíodh sé Amhlaidh” in Irish Gaelic.

DESCRIPTION:Come join us to gather to celebrate the Summer Solstice – The Longest Day\, as our Ancestors did for generations before us\, and as our children will do\, generations hence.  All are welcome\, no experience needed.  Raven’s Cry Grove\, ADF is inspired by the many ancient Indo-European cultures\, this time by the Slavic culture and Croatian in particular.  The Croatians have a Midsummer festival called “Ivanjski Krijesovi” – Summer’s Fires!  We will celebrate the marriage of Jarilo and Mara\, twin children of mighty Perun.  Their marriage brings a bountiful harvest.  May it be so\, or “Neka bude” in Croatian!

SUMMARY:Spring Liberalia ritual with Raven's Cry Grove
DESCRIPTION:Salvete Citizens and guests! We gather to honor the gods of Ancient Rome who live with us and provide for us. Our ritual is not a re-creation of a Roman rite\, rather it is an ADF Druid rite\, for as was the way of Ancient Rome\, rites of groups other than those of the city\, Rome\, are performed per their own customs. \nOur inspiration is the Roman festival of Liberalia which was held in honor of Liber Pater\, Liber the Father\, a fertility god whose worship dated from near 500 B.C.. Liber Pater\, along with his female equivalent and partner Libera and the earth goddess Ceres\, shared a temple on the Aventine Hill in Rome. Liberalia\, it is said\, was celebrated with sacrifices\, crude songs\, processions\, and liberties of all sorts. \nIn keeping with the description of the ancient Liberalia celebration\, be aware that some elements of our ritual will be adult in nature. \nThere will be a potluck to follow.
