Escaping the soggy isles for the snowy climbs of Norway\, a quick tour of Africa and many other strange lands\, he finally fell in love with California\, making LA his home for the past 26 years! DESCRIPTION:Dealing with Mortality is not something most people today spend a lot of serious time contemplating\, outside of the occasional news of disaster\, and the inhuman manner in which death is treated within our mainstream media entertainment arena. But to a Traditional Witch\, the relationship with Spirit is foundational and our practices and cosmology reflect the importance of the comings and goings of spirit. Many of our practices in life relate to a larger picture of eternity that includes the other realms and underworld\, aka the Mound. \nThis class promises to address the subject from many contexts and bring what we consider a vital part of the Witch Lore that every “Craft” practitioner should be in possession of! DESCRIPTION:Practical Magic Series: Intro to Magical Practices \n \nPractical Magic Series \nWith Carrie & Griffin at the Green Man Store    Starting Thurs 30th of June for six weeks \nWarning: this series will be one of those joint teacher events with Carrie and me\, so anarchy and laughter may hijack us from time to time! \nPlus\, NOTE***  This series is on Thursdays! \nSo\, are you in for a little magic\, a little mischief\, and a load of fun?  This series is a whole fun-packed way to get your fingers into and learn the old Arte of Practical Magic!  The perfect series for those folks beginning on their magical path as well as the seasoned practitioners looking for an informative yet practical hands-on approach to working magic on commonly encountered issues. \nThough we will cover fundamental spell-crafting basics\, the main focus for this series will be hands-on spell work for a wide cross-section of applications and issues.  Heavy on the practical spell-crafting and mischief and lighter on the deeper spiritual issues found within the old arte of Witchcraft today\, we will guide you through a series of projects that will illuminate the mechanics of spell work. \nCome ready to get your head and hands tied up in the work for yourself. \nThis is not a Wicca 101 series\, but rather a series of classes to introduce simple Traditional Craft practices akin to Hedge-witchery.  The Key focus will be on how to make your Magic Magical and how to make it work! \nPre-registration strongly encouraged\, as this class is likely to fill up fast! \nCost is $23 a class;  $93 for the 6 week series paid up front.  $3 discount for cash.  Plus\, there will be a $13 per class materials fee; $3 discount for cash. DESCRIPTION:  \nVision Quest to Brigid the Divide.\nPresented by Griffin\n*Note: prepayment required \nThis month’s Vision Quest comes like a perfect storm. I checked the cards on the date and the phase of the Moon and got a clear direction of the power and forces of the tides on this date all pointing towards reconciling the division. It is a powerful time for making peace and bringing closure to the divide. \nAlso\, in the Craft Tradition I work and many others of the Old World\, we count the days from the death of a loved one and mark the 40th day. There is a period of 40 days for the spirit to transition from the state of being a living spirit within the living body\, to being a living Ancestral Spirit arriving in the afterlife. The crossing of the Death event\, seen by some as a river of forgetfulness\, takes 40 days. So on the 40th day\, we gather to bring closure to our mourning and to celebrate the living Spirit that was and still is\, now having transitioned into the Ancestral Realm.\n \nCounting the days since the Orlando Shooting\, the exact date of the 40th day lands on our Vision Quest date\, July 22nd. So we will also need to incorporate the work of bringing that painful event to a close. And celebrate the Arrival of those dear Ones into the Afterlife. This will likely be an emotional working\, so please be prepared. \nIt seemed appropriate then with all that is going on. We are not 40 days out from the Orlando Shooting and yet have another run of shootings. Our society is reeling\, how much more division can we endure? \nI look to our own community as a model of how things could be. People of all colours\, creeds and cultures\, all beliefs and sexual identities\, with all our quirks and awkwardness we still find a way to gather under one Tree as a Diverse Tribe\, proud of our collective Identity and Intrigued rather than threatened by our internal differences. And yet our community is also not immune to the spirit of division and knee jerk anger. The world is fearful and angry and confused as to where to place these powerful feelings of frustration. I have found myself there feeling hurt and frustrated and poking a bear while knowing it’s a bad time to poke a bear unless you want revolution. \nIf we are to make a difference\, we need to make this personal but how we engage is vital to our success as a community. We must not be drawn away from the Pack to find ourselves alone and fending for ourselves. We need to hold fast and embrace those qualities we hold within our own community as a seed of change for the world. We are heretics but now the heresy is for us to not let the tide of division sweep us up! \nWe need to make the work in this Vision Quest personal and real for ourselves. We need to address the spirit of division within us and bring reconciliation to that splintered spirit. Then taking that power\, we can embrace the Spirit of those who have passed with hope for our collective future and send that spirit of Hope out into the world. As Within\, So Without! \nTo draw the many elements of this work into a potent harmony\, it is my intention to work with Goddess Brigid. She incorporates so many aspects of what we are dealing with and she can be a great healer! \nAnd so\, yet another of our popular monthly Vision Quests\, which serve to help awaken the Sight and Gifts in the Seeker\, and offers a number of opportunities to connect with and receive gnostic insight into your Fate\, Path\, and practices in your mundane world as well as your Magic. \n*Please Note: As attendance is limited due to space\, and these workings have become so popular\, we have found ourselves turning people away because the RSVP is filled to max. Only some folks did not show up on the night and people had been turned away when we could have accommodated them.
