The most common of these being “The Sight”\, which is an abbreviated term used for “The Second Sight”. Often seen as being Psychic\, it is the ability to perceive Spirit\, in its many forms\, from dearly departed Spirits of the Dead\, Ancestral Spirits\, to Nature Spirits\, Gods and a good many more. \n  \nTraditional Witchcraft relies heavily on the relationships and direct two way communion forged between various spirits\, allies\, and Gods. So for this reason\, Traditional Witchcraft as practiced by many\, requires the development of the “Sight” and related “Gifts”. \n  \nThis will be a workshop focused on how we awaken our Sight and develop our abilities\, as well as how to apply the various Gifts in practical applications. We will be covering a great broad spectrum of the Gifts in Theory and Practice weekly. \n  \nThis workshop will present as part theory\, part practical. You can’t receive good Fortune without having your hands open and extended in the form of giving; sharing and bestowing what Fortune you can for one in need. \nYep\, this is our own Jerel this time that needs some help. He has had a bitch of a year\, from the fires to loosing close family members to now this… He was in a really bad car accident last week and totaled his car. It wasn’t his fault but with the way the insurance law stands he is S.O.L! And so as we have come together so many times for members of our community\, we now feel the need to gather to support this dear soul who is also a core member of our Green Man Store and Community! \nWe have a history of stepping up for members of our community when the shoe hits the fan! We have held this working many times before. This time it’s once again for one of those unforeseen side swipes from dear of Dame Fate! Something you just can’t work around\, but it takes you out and prohibits many solutions you could have found for yourself… Obstacles that takes you down and makes solutions beyond your reach. SUMMARY:Vision Quest to Lupa & Lupercus with Griffin
DESCRIPTION:  \nA Lupercalian Vision Quest!\nWith Griffin Ced\nReservation Required 818 985 2010 \nIo Lupercus (Pan) Io Lupa (She-Wolf Mother)\nThis year we are celebrating and working the Lupercalia in a Vision Quest. This is a great opportunity for those first-timers who want to experience the Lupercalia and all the gifts that the festival brings\, without having to jump into the deep end\, so to speak. \nThe Lupercalia is a notorious Roman Festival\, usually celebrated on Feb 14th\, which today we celebrate as Valentines Day\, a day of Love and Romance. Back in ye olden Roman Days\, this was festival of cleansing\, purging and then fertility\, the idea being that to make fertile and affluent the coming year\, one should first clear the field\, prior to seeding the field. \nThe cleansing and purging aspect of this Festival had its roots in an older Greek Festival called the Lykaia. This was a Ritual that focused on the purging of complications; issues and trappings\, often associated with those socialized societal aspects of our humanity\, which binds our primal power and nature within. During this Rite of the Lykaia\, Human Sacrifice was practiced as a form of the Hieros Gamos\, ritually sacrificing the Flesh of Humanity to the Gods or Spirit of the Divine. Participants would lose themselves in their primal nature\, sacrificing their humanity to the liberated spirit of their animalistic forces within. This early form of shape-shifting\, classically associated with the Werewolf and the Lunacy of the Full Moon\, became a central aspect of these rites. Over time Pan also becomes associated with this Festival\, as the primal forces of the Werewolf and the liberation of the animalistic identity allowed for the subsequent revelry of a primal Bacchanal to fertility and nature! \nFrom this Greek root came the Roman Lupercalia\, where the two main God Figures were celebrated as Lupa\, the She Wolf Mother of the founders of Rome\, and Lupercus\, the Roman Pan. This combination brought together the purging of weakness and the foibles of our humanity with the freed spirit of our powerful primal nature\, in a bacchanalian fertility festival of life! Which all in all is a far cry from the Hallmark Valentines Day of Love and Romance! \nTo translate the power and potential of this working to our modern times\, we first look to purge ourselves of the petty issues and traps that bind us and our primal power within\, so that we may better take on the challenge of life! Then\, charged and free from the limitations and expectations society puts upon our flesh\, we embrace our primal power within and celebrate the liberty of our nature and desires as we bring fertility and abundance to our lives and the year ahead. We do this in conjunction with the guidance and manifestation of the patron Gods of this Festival…\nIo Lupa! (She-Wolf mother) Io Lupercus! (Pan) \nThis time around\, this year\, we find ourselves drowning in the muck and mire of our humanity and its foibles\, from discordant relationships and insecurities to discordant politics and societal factions in collision! We so need to get off this ride and purge! We so need to set our pagan nature free and celebrate our liberty from the bonds of society! Let us be the Free Spirits who are outcast! This time\, for once\, being outcast offers us a sanctuary from the madness that is becoming mainstream society! SUMMARY:Saturnalia Rite & Topsy Turvy Feast of Misrule
DESCRIPTION:Join us in an absurd celebration! Fair is foul and foul is fair!  As humor and especially absurdity and mockery are traditionally associated with this Saturnalian Misrule\, this should be the spirit of the Feast. To invert and turn the norm on its head\, this will be a Topsy Turvy Feast where men come dressed as women and women as men\, only with the mockery and humor overtone.\n The feast is of course a potluck and feel free to bring-a-bottle. \n The Saturnalia\, a seasonal celebration of this time of year for old Rome\, was of course sacred to Saturn and celebrated as an inversion or reversal of what was the norm. It was a festival of Misrule where Masters served the servants\, clothes were worn inside out/back to front\, and all kinds of misrule ran amok.   In today’s Trad Craft this practice is still maintained in some traditions\, sometimes under the guise of the Lord of Misrule and a period of Misrule. In our Tradition\, we observe this time of Misrule as Dark Time; the Misrule element being worked more around the Yule period\, which is appropriate to the Saturnalia.  A Celebration of Misrule for the Father of Boundaries and order may seem strange. But the idea is to celebrate the spirit of Misrule within a ritual celebration format in order to satiate that spirit so it has no desire or need to reach into our mundane life\, world or society\, and thereby leave Saturn empowered!   This Misrule celebration also supports the liberty of our bound spirits of creativity. And freeing ourselves from the chains of social convention\, the clear sight and understanding or “insight” one may get by freeing oneself from the chains of the societal norm\, is where the practice brings to us its true Saturnalian Yule Gift.   With this liberty\, one may find a new horizon and shift the path of one’s life or some practice\, element\, or habit one would like to be rid of. This is done by exposing it in a blunt and honest manner\, and using misrule and humor to gain another perspective\, thus disarming the monster and bringing about change. Perhaps this is the source of the New Year’s Resolution we still hold as a Yule/New Year’s practice. Then I did one class each season to explore the underlying themes and mythos that permeated through a Season. We explored its many expressions and evolution through the Season\, the specific festivals and practices which helped further illuminate the Legacy being presented. Most of all\, we focused in particular on the Witches Legacy of Mysteries that laid in the roots of this material and how as Witchcraft practitioners today\, we could access and apply this material to our own path and evolution. \n  \nI have to admit I was not really aware of how deep this legacy went or how coherent it is\, until I did those Four Seasons classes. What it lent me was a truly coherent grasp on the workings as a whole within the whole season! The Mysteries and how they were still so pertinent was never made so clear as with these insightful classes. They ended up probably being my favorite classes of the year\, next to the Witch Blood Series! \n  \nSo with this upcoming Series\, how it’s evolved is this… I will be doing an over view orientation of the Year perspective on the first class. Then the following eight classes will be broken into four segments where we will spend two weeks on each Season. In addition to the Seasonal Material\, including Solar and Draconian Land Lore\, we will incorporate the Luna Tidal influences\, which is how we reign and ride the Draconian Powers to specific goals within our Witchcraft Rituals and Workings. \n  \nBasically we will be working the Draconian powers of the seasons in conjunction with the Luna forces to explore and lay out clear practical applications to workings. This will help better grasp how to translate the lore\, mythic legacy and forces of both the Sun and Moon\, working upon the Dragon Forces of the Earth\, into clear applicable and practical workings! \n  \nMaybe you can see why I am excited about this one! So with two weeks to each season and covering the various moon phases\, we have more than enough work to chew on. I am hoping to take the work onto the floor every other week\, as a way to practically represent various kinds of working approaches. \n  \nLimited Space Warning! SUMMARY:Seasons of the Witch series with Griffin Ced
DESCRIPTION:“Seasons of the Witch” with Griffin\nStarting August 15th at 7:30 p.m. for nine weeks. \n$23; $3 discount for cash\, per class\,\n$138 for series if paid in full by first class\n(a $5 per class savings when paid in full; it brings the price to $15 per class)\nI wanted to call this Series\, Seasons and Tides of the Witch\, but Season of the Witch was just too damn catchy! I am really excited about this Series\, which I have not done before. \n  \nBasically for those who know my classes\, this is a combination of the Four Seasons classes I did a year back. Then I did one class each season to explore the underlying themes and mythos that permeated through a Season. We explored its many expressions and evolution through the Season\, the specific festivals and practices which helped further illuminate the Legacy being presented. Most of all\, we focused in particular on the Witches Legacy of Mysteries that laid in the roots of this material and how as Witchcraft practitioners today\, we could access and apply this material to our own path and evolution. \n  \nI have to admit I was not really aware of how deep this legacy went or how coherent it is\, until I did those Four Seasons classes. What it lent me was a truly coherent grasp on the workings as a whole within the whole season! The Mysteries and how they were still so pertinent was never made so clear as with these insightful classes. They ended up probably being my favorite classes of the year\, next to the Witch Blood Series! \n  \nSo with this upcoming Series\, how it’s evolved is this… I will be doing an over view orientation of the Year perspective on the first class. Then the following eight classes will be broken into four segments where we will spend two weeks on each Season. In addition to the Seasonal Material\, including Solar and Draconian Land Lore\, we will incorporate the Luna Tidal influences\, which is how we reign and ride the Draconian Powers to specific goals within our Witchcraft Rituals and Workings. \n  \nBasically we will be working the Draconian powers of the seasons in conjunction with the Luna forces to explore and lay out clear practical applications to workings. This will help better grasp how to translate the lore\, mythic legacy and forces of both the Sun and Moon\, working upon the Dragon Forces of the Earth\, into clear applicable and practical workings! \n  \nMaybe you can see why I am excited about this one! So with two weeks to each season and covering the various moon phases\, we have more than enough work to chew on. I am hoping to take the work onto the floor every other week\, as a way to practically represent various kinds of working approaches. \n  \nLimited Space Warning! The recent Series I have been doing have sold out and many who left it to the last week were not able to make the class. I think this class will be popular\, and as we do have class size limitations\, it is advisable to purchase the series ASAP\, in advance in order to secure a space for this series before the class fills up! \n  \nCall the Green Man at 818-985-2010. \nPre Paid Reservations will be taken on a first come\, first serve basis. \nThis Traditional Witchcraft Series is fine for first timers.
