For those who don’t know the background legend to this: St. Patrick was a 5th century Christian missionary in Ireland. During his time there\, he is claimed to have driven all the snakes out of Ireland. As experts believe that there never were snakes in Ireland\, this story is understood as a metaphor\, symbolizing the eradication of paganism and the spread of Christianity throughout Ireland. As Pagans\, we have something to say about this!\nWithin the old mythology & mysteries\, Serpents often represent the emissary of insight & inspiration that enables a paradigm shift in awareness. Serpents are often associated with Lucifer\, a Roman God representing Venus\, Morning Star\, Lord of Illumination. More importantly he presents the Esoteric Illumination associated with the Venus Mysteries\, and his Serpents are the Crooked Folk who bring change\, progress in awareness\, & insight into the ways of the world that needs to be challenged. We the Pagan Witches are the Crooked Folk\, Wise Ones\, Serpents of Lucifer!
