Access to the ritual space is level and wide enough for wheelchair access. Typically\, accessing the ritual space requires going through the store\, which does have strong scents\, and accommodations can be made in advance to come in through alleyway. The ritual space will have some light after dark\, but it is minimal. Chairs are available for those needing to sit for part of or all of the ritual\, and the ritual is structured to allow for participation also while seated.\nAcoustics in the yard can be difficult with aircraft flying overhead; however\, there are no constant loud noises\, and the ritual is conducted with awareness of the ambient noise level to help with hearing. Very rarely\, due to inclement weather (either heavy rain or wildfire smoke)\, the ritual is moved to an indoor space which is up a flight of stairs with no wheelchair access.\nWe have written this accessibility statement to be as inclusive as possible so that people with accessibility concerns do not have to do the labor of asking. During this series we will cover the full broad spectrum of the basics in all areas of Traditional Witchcraft\, from spell-crafting\, to Altars and basic magical tools of all sorts\, and onto all forms of Spirits\, familiars\, Ancestral\, Gods and beyond! This is a comprehensive introduction to all areas and elements of Traditional Witchcraft\, most importantly\, we will be covering the creation of various forms of a working Witches Compass\, setting up the basic Northern Quarter System. \nNote: This is not a Wiccan-based Witchcraft system. We do not work an Elemental-based Magical system nor do we work Golden Dawn Quarters. \nAlso to be covered\, deeper explorations into working with the Moons and Sabbats and other subjects related to the tides of Fate and the Web of Wyrd. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a dive into the Cauldron of the Heart! This is one of three workshops distinctly exploring the three Celtic cauldrons from a present-day\, primal druidic perspective. Dive into the Cauldron of the Heart\, its relationship to the gods and living pagan practice\, as well as its application in daily life. This is not a history lecture\, but an immersive exploration into the ingredients of fully embodied magic— consisting of first a spoken presentation and then a guided meditative experience to engage with the magic for yourself. Let history’s wellspring flow into the present and and let your cauldrons bubble. \nABOUT THE TEACHER:  Awen is a deadlifting druid\, witchy woman\, and longtime ritualist who draws from a variety of skills to cultivate sacred space and primal magic. \nAwen has taught on primal druidry before at The Crooked Path in Burbank\, the Pagan Community Retreat of 2023\, and her home-community gathering center Kilcoleman West. DESCRIPTION:Sound Bath:  Saturday\, February 10th. Arrive 7:30 for start at 8pm sharp \nWhat is a Sound Bath?\nA Sound Bath is an experience in which you can either sit or lie down on the ground\, close your eyes and feel the sound waves of the crystal singing bowls and planetary gongs flowing around and through you…bathing you. Many people find it to be meditative\, relaxing\, and/or healing. Some people may go on an inward journey or experience altered states of consciousness and some may even fall asleep. Most people leave feeling more relaxed than when they arrived. Sound affects our nervous system. It can help to turn off our sympathetic nervous system…the fight or flight that we tend to live in our daily lives…and turn on our parasympathetic nervous systems\, allowing for rest and relaxation.\nDress in comfortable clothing and please bring a mat\, blanket\, pillow and/or anything that allows you to be comfortable lying on the floor.\nPlease arrive at 7:30 for 8:00pm start.  In order to avoid interruption of the meditative nature of this event\, the doors will be locked at 8pm sharp and no-one will be admitted after that time. SUMMARY:Lupercalia Vision Quest
DESCRIPTION:Lupercalia Vision Quest.\nPresented by Griffin & Carrie.\nA Hybrid Event:  Live in person & Zoom!\n\n\nThis year we are celebrating and working the Lupercalia in a Vision Quest. This is a great opportunity for those first-timers who want to experience the Lupercalia and all the gifts that the festival brings\, without having to jump into the deep end\, so to speak. \nThe Lupercalia is a notorious Roman Festival\, usually celebrated on Feb 14th\, which today we celebrate as Valentines Day\, a day of Love and Romance. Back in ye olden Roman Days\, this was festival of cleansing\, purging and then fertility\, the idea being that to make fertile and affluent the coming year\, one should first clear the field\, prior to seeding the field. \nThe cleansing and purging aspect of this Festival had its roots in an older Greek Festival called the Lykaia. This was a Ritual that focused on the purging of complications; issues and trappings\, often associated with those socialized societal aspects of our humanity\, which binds our primal power and nature within. During this Rite of the Lykaia\, Human Sacrifice was practiced as a form of the Hieros Gamos\, ritually sacrificing the Flesh of Humanity to the Gods or Spirit of the Divine. Participants would lose themselves in their primal nature\, sacrificing their humanity to the liberated spirit of their animalistic forces within. This early form of shape-shifting\, classically associated with the Werewolf and the Lunacy of the Full Moon\, became a central aspect of these rites. Over time Pan also becomes associated with this Festival\, as the primal forces of the Werewolf and the liberation of the animalistic identity allowed for the subsequent revelry of a primal Bacchanal to fertility and nature! \nFrom this Greek root came the Roman Lupercalia\, where the two main God Figures were celebrated as Lupa\, the She Wolf Mother of the founders of Rome\, and Lupercus\, the Roman Pan. This combination brought together the purging of weakness and the foibles of our humanity with the freed spirit of our powerful primal nature\, in a bacchanalian fertility festival of life! Which all in all is a far cry from the Hallmark Valentines Day of Love and Romance! \nTo translate the power and potential of this working to our modern times\, we first look to purge ourselves of the petty issues and traps that bind us and our primal power within\, so that we may better take on the challenge of life! Then\, charged and free from the limitations and expectations society puts upon our flesh\, we embrace our primal power within and celebrate the liberty of our nature and desires as we bring fertility and abundance to our lives and the year ahead. We do this in conjunction with the guidance and manifestation of the patron Gods of this Festival…\nIo Lupa! (She-Wolf mother) Io Lupercus! During this series we will cover the full broad spectrum of the basics in all areas of Traditional Witchcraft\, from spell-crafting\, to Altars and basic magical tools of all sorts\, and onto all forms of Spirits\, familiars\, Ancestral\, Gods and beyond! This is a comprehensive introduction to all areas and elements of Traditional Witchcraft\, most importantly\, we will be covering the creation of various forms of a working Witches Compass\, setting up the basic Northern Quarter System. \nNote: This is not a Wiccan-based Witchcraft system. We do not work an Elemental-based Magical system nor do we work Golden Dawn Quarters. \nAlso to be covered\, deeper explorations into working with the Moons and Sabbats and other subjects related to the tides of Fate and the Web of Wyrd. We will cover all important areas of Witch Lore and Cosmology\, including how it works and why we need work it the way we do!\nAll this and a whole lot more\, as anyone who has taken classes with me will tell–you always get more than you can handle! \nThis series is good for people of ALL levels who are interested in learning more about Traditional Witchcraft. Though this series is designed to be accessible to new comers to Trad Craft\, these classes can also hold insights for the seasoned witch of other traditions and experiences. We are also known for our work leading large groups in public workings. We offer a structured system that works to support modern day Witches in practical application of and evolution of the Legacy they inheritably hold within their Witchblood. As noted above\, this is not a Wiccan-based system\, and it is different from what you may find in most books! We work in conjunction with various kinds of Spirits and the practice of Magic as foundational. You may experience magic and high energy first-hand in these classes. \nAn open mind to exploration into an alternative approach to the Craft is required. A sense of humour is also required!
