This might be the class you're Looking for! \nWhat better way for witches to spend a Friday night than to join some experienced old Odds n Sods witches to have an online Zoom class/presentation/discussion about some particularly interesting Witchcraft subjects? \nWe are\, for sure\, a couple of most odd (and often called a) sods type practicing Witches! \nJoin us in a relaxed\, frank\, and humorous space\, and lead us into some interesting discussions where everything is potentially on the table. \nThese will be stand-alone single classes\, on an odd (ha!) schedule that runs 2 weeks in a row\, then a week off\, for six single classes. We took suggestions to heart and are choosing asked for subject matter. \nThe way we do these classes is to enjoy an evening of frank and open discussion and sharing (likely over a glass of wine)\, drawing from decades of personal experience and making magic work in our lives.  Griffin & Carrie have years of experience teaching together and have\, collectively\, decades of hands-on Witchcraft and teaching experience under their belts! \nThe type of witchcraft we practice is British Traditional Witchcraft\, leaning towards what we think of as old world heretical craft\, rooted in the ‘gifts’\, working with various types of spirits\, including the old Gods and various practices of Magic—though we are happy to engage in all kinds of questions\, from all kinds of Witchcraft and Magical practices. \nThe format\, as stated\, is to have a relaxed fun Friday night atmosphere\, while we get deep into some chewy witchcraft subjects.  We want to get into all the odd subjects that people have shown great interest in discussing and understanding better. And\, as magical practitioners\, astrology eventually comes into play whether or not you have genuine interest in it\, or even try to avoid it. But as fascinating\, and enriching\, Astrology can be\, it’s also very complex\, and can be overwhelming for most people. And yet\, many people have expressed to us that they not only want to learn more about it\, but they want to learn how to utilize Astrology within their magical practice. So if you want to sit or lie down with padding\, we have a few available but feel free to bring your own!\nThese Vision Quests are quite literally that.. a Quest\, as in the Grail Quest\, experienced through Vision\, with a free form Spirit Encounter. DESCRIPTION:This is a 4 hour In Person Only workshop. It will start with a discussion of Lore\, then a practical making of your own talisman. Class fee is $83 and includes all practical materials. Attendance is limited to 20 students – don't wait to register!\nThe Divine Smith/Talisman Creation Class – The Miner\, The Smelter\, The Smith: \nThe Wee People \nTomyKnockers\nDwarven\nElves \nThe Alchemist \nIron Ore formation. Tin and copper formation and the chemistry of bronze.\nThe science of smelting. (A brief overview)\nThe bloom. The womb. The Tomb. \nThe Smith \nThe Forge\nThe Anvil\nThe Quenching Bucket \nTalismans\, how they work. \nThis is that. Sympathetic Magic\nEnergy in + solidified intent = energy out.\nThe continuation of the spell. How long do I let it go?\nShut it down. How to “turn it off”. \nThe class will start with a classroom overview of the above concepts. 1 hr.\nThen we will move into the practical. 2.5 to 3 hours. (The total class time is 4 hours but may run long.)\nSafety first. The import of safety around the furnace and molten metal will be discussed until everyone is comfortable with and agrees to abide by the safety rules for the class.\nEach student will be given one carving block and enough brass to make one talisman approx. 1 ½” by 1 ½”. The block has two sides that we will be carving into. We get one mistake per block.\nExtra blocks and brass will be available at additional cost. If time permits a second talisman can be cast after everyone has cast their first talisman. No one will go home without a talisman. I will help with one-on-one instruction\, hands on if needed\, to help each student complete a talisman.\nInstruction on how to carve the block. ½ hour\nTools will be provided by me.\nPPE… The student should bring a leather pair of gardening gloves. Safety glasses any kind will suffice. Old clothing that can get ripped torn or burnt with no drama. NO SYNTHETIC CLOTHING. I will have a limited supply of PPE to protect from the furnace heat and heavy gloves for handling hot items\, Students will not be exposed to molten metal.\nOnce poured the talisman will be quenched and the student will have the opportunity to clean up their talisman.\nWe will not be sanding or polishing the talismans to a mirror finish. The fire brick is rough and will not give a smooth enough surface to achieve a smooth surface finish in sufficient time. We will clean them.\nPouring of the talismans will be done one at a time as the students finish working the bricks. Timing!\nWe could do an “tools activating” ritual after the class? Access to the ritual space is level and wide enough for wheelchair access. Typically\, accessing the ritual space requires going through the store\, which does have strong scents\, and accommodations can be made in advance to come in through alleyway. The ritual space will have some light after dark\, but it is minimal. Chairs are available for those needing to sit for part of or all of the ritual\, and the ritual is structured to allow for participation also while seated.\nAcoustics in the yard can be difficult with aircraft flying overhead; however\, there are no constant loud noises\, and the ritual is conducted with awareness of the ambient noise level to help with hearing. Very rarely\, due to inclement weather (either heavy rain or wildfire smoke)\, the ritual is moved to an indoor space which is up a flight of stairs with no wheelchair access.
