The idea behind this series is to present over four weeks\, four different ways to approach working magic with the Cauldron. We will most likely touch on many more\, but zero in on four primary ways to use what is arguably one of the most classically important tools of the Witch! \nOur classes are generally information rich and we are open to questions that often take us on unexpected tangents and this series will be no different! We plan to cover ritual use as well as use of the Cauldron in Spell Crafting. Though our primary subject matter will be about Iron Cauldrons\, we will also be touching on other types of cauldrons and why such alternative cauldrons are used. This will be the second Ced Tradition Series in our exciting new Temple & location in Burbank. We felt this was a perfect subject matter for our new space! \nThis Traditional Witchcraft series is good for Witchcraft practitioners of all levels\, including newbies. There will be elements for all levels. We aim to present this in as clear and simple terms as possible. \nNow the important structure element to the class: We have since Covid developed a large following of folks from afar who want to attend our classes via Zoom. If you are new to Shamanism\, or simply want to learn more about it\, this series will help you cultivate several techniques\, and skills\, within the Shamanic Worldview.This will be a 6-Week Series Class\, wherein each class will meet every Thursday night from 7:30pm–10pm\, between June 20th to August 1st. DESCRIPTION:‘Seasons of the Witch’ with Griffin & Carrie\nStarting June 18th 7:30 p.m. for 4 weeks \nIn this short series we shall explore the underlying themes and mythos that permeate through a whole Season rather than only focusing on a single Sabbat or Festival day. Taking a wider view to see how ongoing themes weave & evolve through the Seasons\, we see how the specific festivals\, Sabbats and practices came into being. Most of all\, this series approach helps focus in particular the Witch’s Legacy of Mysteries that lies at the roots of the seasonal practices\, offering inspiration into how Witchcraft practitioners today can access and apply this material to our own 21st century path and evolution. \nTo share my own experience: when I first did this series some years back\, honestly I was surprised how deep this approach would take us into the legacy and underlying themes that run through the whole season. This helps most in clarifying the main meat to be worked with over the season–not only clarifying the core material for Witches to focus on with the Sabbats but also the energies at play with the Moon workings. \nThis will be the first series in our exciting new location in Burbank. We figured doing a short foundational type of series would be great to set us up for the work we hope to engage in as the year progresses! \nThis Traditional Witchcraft series is good for Witchcraft practitioners of all levels\, including newbies. DESCRIPTION:Please join us for our Midsummer Sabbat Ritual!\nSaturday\, June 22nd\nPresented by The Temple of Ced. \nThe Temple of Ced is a British Traditional Witchcraft tradition as opposed to a coven based in Wiccan practices. As such\, our sabbats are not based on agriculture or earth religion practice\, so we tend to  deviate a bit from what you may expect if you haven’t worked with us before. That said\, we build our rituals with the intent of making them inclusive and accessible to our very diverse community at The Green Man and whatever paths they may be walking! \nPlease bring a dish to share for the potluck social gathering after the ritual. Out of respect to us\, please abide by the Law: people need to be over 21 to drink. Adults who are over 21 are asked to please be adult in their drinking approach and drink responsibly so we all get to have some fun. \nWe gather at 7:30pm for an 8pm Rite. To help defray costs to the store and to the presenters\, we charge $15 for rituals. The Witch’s Compass as worked within the Ced Tradition is a cosmological framework used by us and some Traditional Witches as an alternative to the Judaic Kabalistic Tree. \nThough this series is primarily focused on the Ced Tarot\, we will also look at the Rider Waite Deck as a comparison. And the system we will present is possible to work with other decks. \nPractical considerations for this series:\nThis material has not been presented before in this manner\, and so we felt that many far afield would also want what we are offering in this Series. However in the past we have found that using Zoom for practical classes presented on the Ritual Floor really doesn’t work in general. So the solution we are going to try is this: \nOne week will be in the classroom exploring the cards and ways to use them\, to find insight into how to structure and work a practical ritual from them as source. The next week would then be working the rituals on the floor for the group in person at the store\, and for the Zoom folks to do as solitary workings at home. So: one week in discussion and ritual planning\, one week in ritual on the floor. \nEach week we work in the classroom would start at 7pm and go until 8pm purely focused on the Zoom members\, discussing their recent workings and getting feedback. DESCRIPTION:  \n \nThis year’s event is on Saturday April 27th! Gates open 1:00 pm. \nCome join us with the Green Man Pagan Community Tribe for a good old-fashioned Beltane Rite! This celebration is not at the store\, but at our usual offsite Beltane location\, which is a most amazing magical location\, hidden in the outer reaches of faeriedom\, which as many know\, is adjacent to Van Nuys. \nNo charge for kids under 13. However\, a warning: It being Beltane & us being Pagans\, the theme of the festival may at times be a bit suggestive and adult; as long as you’re cool with that\, kids are most welcome & we expect there will be some present. \n***PARKING IS\, AS ALWAYS\, AN ISSUE. PLEASE CONSIDER CARPOOL\, UBER\, LYFT\, AND SIMILAR OPTIONS*** \nCome\, enjoy old world Pagan Pole dancing. Rub up against nature and a few frolicking nature lovers as we turn this year’s Wheel. And there can never be enough frolickers\, right? Come experience the singeing of your unspeakables as you jump the Beltane Fire! Beat the ground\, dance and make merry like a loon with bells on! Mischief\, mayhem\, what a pair\, a bawdy line twixt foul and fair! \nWe plan to start the festivities at around 1:30 pm with a drumming circle. So please bring a drum and join the jam fest. Or wear something sexy so you can entertain the drummers with a dance! \n \nThis is a picnic-type event so again this year we encourage folks to bring some picnic eats for themselves to enjoy.  Also\, feel free to bring something for sharing on the Drinks table! Note: if you plan on drinking\, please also plan on having your own food to soak up some of that booze\, even if you do believe it actually helps your coordination for the Maypole! We have tried it sober & buzzed\, but the Maypole Dance just seems to crash into mayhem every year regardless! \n \nThe Ritual will kick off somewhere in the neighborhood of 3.00pm. I say somewhere in the neighborhood as folks do have issue finding parking and so arrive late. And we are a large gathering\, so getting folks in just takes a bit more time! Plus\, festival leaders may be possessed by Faeries at this point\, so ballpark times is really the best we can hope for. \n \nThe Main Rite is expected to go about an hour\, give or take\, depending on how lost we all get. After Ritual we can continue with feasting & socializing…jumping the Bale Fires (Naked? Of course it’s far too dangerous with your clothes on. Kidding!). Or perhaps\, if you like\, we can get into some more drumming? \nAgain: remember people this is Los Angeles and it can get hot. Please bring refreshments you would like to drink. AND out of respect to us\, please abide by the Law: people need to be over 21 to drink alcohol!
