THIS WILL BE AFTER YOU’VE PASSED NEWCOMBS RANCH. SIGNS WILL BE PLACED TO MAKE CLEAR WHERE WE ARE. \n ***PARKING IS LIMITED: PLEASE CARPOOL*** \n \n \n \n  \nNo charge for kids under 13. However\, a warning: It being Beltane & us being Pagans\, the theme of the festival may at times be a bit suggestive and adult; as long as you’re cool with that\, kids are most welcome & we expect there will be some present. \nThis is a picnic-type event and we encourage folks to bring some picnic eats for themselves to enjoy.  Also\, feel free to bring something for sharing on the Drinks table! Note: if you plan on drinking\, please also plan on having your own food to soak up some of that booze\, even if you do believe it actually helps your coordination for the Maypole! We have tried it sober & buzzed\, but the Maypole Dance just seems to crash into mayhem every year regardless! Also\, please bring camp chairs and/or picnic blankets to sit on. \nCome\, enjoy old world Pagan Pole dancing. Rub up against nature and a few frolicking nature lovers as we turn this year’s Wheel. And there can never be enough frolickers\, right? Come experience the singeing of your unspeakables as you jump the Beltane Fire! Beat the ground\, dance and make merry like a loon with bells on! Mischief\, mayhem\, what a pair\, a bawdy line twixt foul and fair! \nWe plan to start the festivities at around 1:00 pm with a drumming circle\, with our beloved drummer Goat! So please bring a drum or other favored noise maker and join the jam fest. Or wear something sexy so you can entertain the drummers with a dance! \n \n  \n  \nThe Ritual will kick off somewhere in the neighborhood of 3.00pm. I say somewhere in the neighborhood because pagans are notoriously late. And we are a large gathering\, so getting folks in just takes a bit more time! Plus\, festival leaders may be possessed by Faeries at this point\, so ballpark times is really the best we can hope for. \n  \nThe Main Rite is expected to go about an hour\, give or take\, depending on how lost we all get. DESCRIPTION:Yule is a time for the gathering of the Tribe\, the Community to come together and celebrate our chosen Spiritual Family as we turn the Great Wheel! This is a truly beautiful and fun seasonal gathering and one of the popular Temple of Ced Workings of the year. Be a part of this Yule Tide Spirit\, Saturday December 20th @ 7:30 pm. \nAs we turn the Wheel of the Year over the dark fulcrum of the Sun into new cycle beginning\, we have the opportunity and need to start on the right foot with the right spirit! We do a fun working to capture this event with Magic\, as we decorate a Yule Tree with our Yuletide Wishes. The Tree\, lit with living candles\, then becomes the axis about which we work our old Arte. We gather for Wassailing and carol singing and much sharing of love and joy at this real olde-world seasonal festive celebration. This is a good one for introducing family or friends to our ways. \nWe will be doing this ritual indoors\, so even though it’s a cold time of year\, it will be warm & toasty indoors and you may not want to dress too warmly! As we expect to be busy\, please plan on gathering early\, as parking and getting in may take extra time. We gather from 7:30 pm on for an 8:00 pm ritual. Doors may be closed early if the store reaches capacity\, so arrive early to ensure you will get in.\n~All genders welcome!\n~Children welcome with adult supervision.\n~To support those in recovery\, this ritual is drug and alcohol free.\n\nACCESSIBILITY\n\nThe ritual space is indoors in an enclosed room in the back of the store. Access to the ritual space through the store is level and navigable by wheelchair. Accessing the ritual space requires going through the store\, which does have strong scents\, and accommodations may be able to be made in advance to come in through a back door. The ritual space will have dim lighting. Chairs are available for those needing to sit for part or all of the ritual\, and the ritual is structured to allow for participation also while seated. Acoustics in the ritual space can be a bit difficult with echoing; however there are no constant loud noises\, and the ritual is conducted with awareness of the ambient noise level to help with hearing. Masks are optional but encouraged.\n\nWe have written this accessibility statement to be as inclusive as possible so that people with accessibility concerns do not have to do the labor of asking. PARKING IS VERY LIMITED – please consider carpooling or a paid ride. \nTickets are available ONLY on The Green Man Store website\, and must be purchased NO LATER THAN 5PM THE DAY OF THE EVENT. This event is the biggest and most popular of the year and tickets are limited\, so please secure your ticket early!\nTickets are $35. \nThis is an Old World Traditional Witchcraft working for the dead. Be advised it is not an appropriate event for children. This gathering is not a Halloween party; this is a real witchcraft working. We do work for the passing of loved ones but also\, we call upon the Wild Hunt\, calling in the lost souls and aiding them across the Veil. This working gets intense with power and high energy. Be prepared for such participation and bring desserts and drinks to add to the potluck for after the ritual\, as grounding after the ritual will be necessary! \nYou are invited to bring photos and/or items* of loved ones that have passed\, whom you would like to honor or work with\, and light a candle\, on our Hallowed Ancestral Altar. Please keep this within reason as space on the altar is limited. You are also welcome to bring your Ancestral Bone/Skull fetish to be worked on the Ancestral Altar. Again\, please keep this within reason. The Altar will be made available from 7:00pm on. \n*This has become an increasingly popular event and is very well attended–there are often 200 people in attendance\, not to mention the horde of spirits that usually attends. Please keep this in mind when choosing what to bring to place on the altar. There should be space enough for everyone to honor their loved ones if we all are considerate and strive to keep our skulls\, photos\, and mementos small and few. DESCRIPTION:Please join us for our Midsummer Sabbat Ritual!\nSaturday\, June 21st\nPresented by The Temple of Ced. \nThis year at the Solar point of power\, where we normally focus upon the Divine Crown of Spirit\, we hear the call to celebrate the Queen of Heaven\, Mother to the Crown of Spirit\, specifically\, Asherah\, the silenced Mother Goddess of the Semitic religions.  Though she has Canaanite origins\, even most Pagans of today know little of her.  Beyond her supremacy\, her story is alas the story of all women within the Semitic\, Christian\, & Muslim religious dominated societies of the past thousand plus years.  Even today in the 21st century\, women are being silenced\, disempowered\, disenfranchised\, and disrespected.  They are expected to be the invisible workhorse upon which the patriarchal society can build its abusive society! \nOur Pagan men are not part of this patriarchy\, and they do not endorse it in any way!  Pagan men stand by the Goddess and all women as equals\, as it should always have been.  And as these Patriarchal men are trying to bring back their perverse values of time best left buried\, we need to not be silenced but rather stand firm and clear with all women’s rights. \nTo that end\, we take this opportunity\, with the power of the Solstice\, to turn our faces to the silenced and mostly forgotten Goddess Asherah.  She was the Queen of Heaven\, the Mother Goddess of the Semitic lines\, who sat beside Baal\, El\, and Yahweh.  She was represented by the Axis Mundi\, the World Tree\, often simplified as an Axis Pole\, known as an Asherah Pole.  But the patriarchal temples cut down her poles\, destroyed her artifacts\, and silenced her presence.  Was she another name for the Tree that Odin hung on?  Was she the Cross that the Venus Crown of Spirit was hung on?  Held in our hearts when we didn’t even know it\, she has tried to return\, but the patriarchy finds ways to use her while silencing her identity. \nShe needs us as we need her\, right now\, to rise back to her proper place as Queen of Heaven! \nThe Temple of Ced is a British Traditional Witchcraft tradition as opposed to a coven based in Wiccan practices. As such\, our sabbats are not based on agriculture or earth religion practice\, so we tend to deviate a bit from what you may expect if you haven’t worked with us before. That said\, we build our rituals with the intent of making them inclusive and accessible to our very diverse community at The Green Man and whatever paths they may be walking! \nPlease bring a dish to share for the potluck social gathering after the ritual. This celebration is not at the store\, but at our usual offsite Beltane location\, which is a most amazing magical location\, hidden in the outer reaches of faeriedom\, which as many know\, is adjacent to Van Nuys. \nNo charge for kids under 13. However\, a warning: It being Beltane & us being Pagans\, the theme of the festival may at times be a bit suggestive and adult; as long as you’re cool with that\, kids are most welcome & we expect there will be some present. \n***PARKING IS\, AS ALWAYS\, AN ISSUE. PLEASE CONSIDER CARPOOL\, UBER\, LYFT\, AND SIMILAR OPTIONS*** \nCome\, enjoy old world Pagan Pole dancing. Rub up against nature and a few frolicking nature lovers as we turn this year’s Wheel. And there can never be enough frolickers\, right? Come experience the singeing of your unspeakables as you jump the Beltane Fire! Beat the ground\, dance and make merry like a loon with bells on! Mischief\, mayhem\, what a pair\, a bawdy line twixt foul and fair! \nWe plan to start the festivities at around 1:30 pm with a drumming circle. So please bring a drum and join the jam fest. Or wear something sexy so you can entertain the drummers with a dance! \n \nThis is a picnic-type event so again this year we encourage folks to bring some picnic eats for themselves to enjoy.  Also\, feel free to bring something for sharing on the Drinks table! Note: if you plan on drinking\, please also plan on having your own food to soak up some of that booze\, even if you do believe it actually helps your coordination for the Maypole! We have tried it sober & buzzed\, but the Maypole Dance just seems to crash into mayhem every year regardless! \n \nThe Ritual will kick off somewhere in the neighborhood of 3.00pm. I say somewhere in the neighborhood as folks do have issue finding parking and so arrive late. And we are a large gathering\, so getting folks in just takes a bit more time! Plus\, festival leaders may be possessed by Faeries at this point\, so ballpark times is really the best we can hope for. \n \nThe Main Rite is expected to go about an hour\, give or take\, depending on how lost we all get. After Ritual we can continue with feasting & socializing…jumping the Bale Fires (Naked? Of course it’s far too dangerous with your clothes on. Kidding!). Or perhaps\, if you like\, we can get into some more drumming? \nAgain: remember people this is Los Angeles and it can get hot. Please bring refreshments you would like to drink. DESCRIPTION:Yule is a time for the gathering of the Tribe\, the Community to come together and celebrate our chosen Spiritual Family as we turn the Great Wheel! This is a truly beautiful and fun seasonal gathering and one of the popular Temple of Ced Workings of the year. Be a part of this Yule Tide Spirit\, Saturday December 16th @ 7:30 pm. \nAs we turn the Wheel of the Year over the dark fulcrum of the Sun into new cycle beginning\, we have the opportunity and need to start on the right foot with the right spirit! We do a fun working to capture this event with Magic\, as we decorate a Yule Tree with our Yuletide Wishes. The Tree\, lit with living candles\, then becomes the axis about which we work our old Arte. We gather for Wassailing and carol singing and much sharing of love and joy at this real olde-world seasonal festive celebration. This is a good one for introducing family or friends to our ways. \nThe ritual element will be held outdoors\, so bring something warm to wear. As we expect to be busy\, please plan on gathering early\, as parking and getting in may take extra time. We gather from 7:30 pm on for an 8:00 pm ritual. Remember this is a potluck FEAST Gathering for Yule\, so please bring a dish to share and what refreshments you would like to drink; seasonal dishes appreciated. Out of respect to us\, please abide by the Law\, people need to be over 21 to drink. Very rarely\, due to inclement weather (either heavy rain or wildfire smoke)\, the ritual is moved to an indoor space which is up a flight of stairs with no wheelchair access. DESCRIPTION:  \nCentered by Griffin & Carrie\, and The Temple of Ced\nSaturday October 28\, 2023 Doors Open 7:00pm\n***THIS RITUAL WILL NOT BE HELD ONSITE AT THE GREEN MAN***\nSamhain this year will be held at the MCC Church: 5730 Cahuenga Blvd.\, North Hollywood\, CA 91601. PARKING IS VERY LIMITED – please consider carpooling or a paid ride. \nTickets are available ONLY on The Green Man Store website\, and must be purchased NO LATER THAN 5PM THE DAY OF THE EVENT. This event is the biggest and most popular of the year and tickets are limited\, so please secure your ticket early!\nTickets are $25. \nThis is an Old World Traditional Witchcraft working for the dead. Be advised it is not an appropriate event for children. This gathering is not a Halloween party; this is a real witchcraft working. We do work for the passing of loved ones but also\, we call upon the Wild Hunt\, calling in the lost souls and aiding them across the Veil. This working gets intense with power and high energy. Be prepared for such participation and bring desserts and drinks to add to the potluck for after the ritual\, as grounding after the ritual will be necessary! \nYou are invited to bring photos and/or items* of loved ones that have passed\, whom you would like to honor or work with\, and light a candle\, on our Hallowed Ancestral Altar. Please keep this within reason as space on the altar is limited. You are also welcome to bring your Ancestral Bone/Skull fetish to be worked on the Ancestral Altar. Again\, please keep this within reason. The Altar will be made available from 7:00pm on. \n*This has become an increasingly popular event and is very well attended–there are often 200 people in attendance\, not to mention the horde of spirits that usually attends. Please keep this in mind when choosing what to bring to place on the altar. There should be space enough for everyone to honor their loved ones if we all are considerate and strive to keep our skulls\, photos\, and mementos small and few. Please remove all belongings after the event as items left will be discarded. \nThe Ritual will start at 9 pm sharp.
