And there can never be enough frolickers\, right? Come experience the singeing of your unspeakables as you jump the Beltane Fire! Beat the ground\, dance and make merry like a loon with bells on! Mischief\, mayhem\, what a pair\, a bawdy line twixt foul and fair! \nWe plan to start the festivities at around 1:00 pm with a drumming circle\, with our beloved drummer Goat! We do work for the passing of loved ones but also\, we call upon the Wild Hunt\, calling in the lost souls and aiding them across the Veil. This working gets intense with power and high energy. Be prepared for such participation and bring something to add to the potluck for after the ritual\, food and drink\, as grounding after the ritual will be necessary! \nYou are invited to bring photos and/or items* of loved ones that have passed\, whom you would like to honor or work with\, and light a candle\, on our Our Hallowed Ancestral Altar. Please keep this within reason as space on the altar is limited. You are also welcome to bring your Ancestral Bone/Skull fetish to be worked on the Ancestral Altar. The Altar will be made available from 7:30pm on. Again\, please keep this within reason. \n*This has become an increasingly popular event and is very well attended–there are often close to 200 people in attendance\, not to mention the horde of spirits that usually attends. Please keep this in mind when choosing what to bring to place on the altar. Where the most extraordinary and spectacular of our ranks will present their most diabolical creations of spelldom and imagination for the hedonistic pleasure of those assembled in our congregation of sin! \nSo shake the cobwebs out of your brooms sisters\, remove the toads from your beards brothers\, and join us for truly the greatest cackle of the year! Conjure up a guising and glamour to astonish the Gods! Or poke your heretical finger at us all and bedeck yourself as the ugliest and most reviled of all witches. Beat the ground\, dance and make merry like a loon with bells on! Mischief\, mayhem\, what a pair\, a bawdy line twix foul and fair! \nWe truly do have an amazing and diverse Community that gathers around the Green Man. One regular group found hosting events at the store is our friends Reclaiming LA. Who as in recent years will be leading us in a Community Spiral Dance. It’s like a giant game of pagan twister that gets you entangled up in a serpent’s knot of love power! \nThis year we plan on starting the festivities at 1:30 pm with a drumming circle. And to lead that we have our own beloved Goat joining us from the wastelands beyond the California State border. So please bring a drum and join the jam fest. Or wear something sexy so you can entertain the drummers with a dance! \nAs usual this Festival Gathering is a Pot Luck Feast…so please bring a dish to share…and what refreshments you may want. In years past we have kept the feasting for after the Main Rite. We have learned that this just didn’t work! People drinking on empty stomachs turned out to be no fun. So this year we will be opening the Potluck at 2.00pm\, one hour after we open the gates. This way\, people can graze as they like throughout the Beltane Festival. Who knows\, this may actually help the May Pole Dance\, which has crashed into mayhem every year! \n\n\n\nThe Spiral Dance will kick off the Main Rite somewhere in the neighborhood of 3.00pm. I say somewhere in the neighborhood as folks do have issue finding parking and so arrive late. And we are a large gathering; so getting folks in just takes a bit more time! Plus\, festival leaders may be possessed by Fearies at this point\, so ballpark times is really the best we can hope for. The Main Rite is expected to go about an hour give or take; depending on how lost we get in the rite. After the Ritual we can continue with the feasting and socializing…jumping the Bale Fires (Naked? Of course it’s far too dangerous with your clothes on. Kidding!). Other variations are also outlined in the the class manual. Over half the class time is used for practice\, so that each student becomes confident in administering Reiki attunements. In addition to these initiatory attunements\, you will also be taught a powerful healing technique\, developed by the International Center for Reiki Training\, called the Healing Attunement. This can be used on any of your clients and in fact it is recommended as part of a three-step treatment that will be taught in the class.
