May-Day Magic: The Sorcery of Summer’s Beginning with Orion Foxwood
Wednesday, May 1st 8-10pm $30 cash fee
The power of old-style nature-based witchery is in its ability to synchronize sorcery with natural tides and forces (seen and unseen) that carry personal and communal magic to its success. Working with the seasonal (solar, stellar and planetary) rhythms is a primary way of doing this. In this workshop, Orion will share many of the magical practices of his witchcraft tradition associated with Beltane (aka May Day or May-Fest). He will teach about the two fires of beltane and how they are used, dressing the tree, the dance of the billy-tree, the felling of the tree, offerings for the Faery people, the power of the ascending serpent, the dance of the tree as a mill of the sun, the use of may-day dew, leaping the flames and a host of other magical practices from the old lore.He will also teach some of the chants associated with this holiday and give detailed insight into how Beltane and Hallows are connected with the mysteries of the haunted mound.
