La Befana Moon Ritual with Monica and the Strega.
Sat Jan 26th, 7:30pm $10 donation
La Befana is an Italian folklore character who delivers gifts to good children on Epiphany Eve or a piece of coal or a stick to bad children. She is usually portrayed as an old lady riding a broomstick through the air wearing a black shawl and is covered in soot because she enters the children’s houses through the chimney. Being a good housekeeper, many say she will sweep the floor before she leaves. To some the sweeping meant the sweeping away of the problems of the year..
Join us on the evening of January 26th, as we celebrate La Befana, bringing gifts to bring in the goodness of the new year and sweeping away problems. The ritual will be followed by a potluck feast, please bring a dish to share. We suggest a $10 donation to offset the ritual costs.
